Filipino Fellowship

Although The Filipino Fellowship studies and worships in the English language, many of our Filipinos converse in Ilonggo. Social activities are planned throughout the year.

The founder and first leader of this group was Rev. Thomas Gabio, who came to First Baptist in March of 1982, having moved to California from the Philippines, where he served as the chaplain of Central Philippine University. He had extensive contacts with graduates of that school living in the Los Angeles area and through him, we were able to invite them to be a part of First Baptist.

Now, nearly 25 years later, the group is still going strong and welcomes all people from all areas of the Philippines, as well as any other ethnicities.
